The villa is a contemporary interpretation of the Islamic principles of architecture. The design strives to create a choreographed narrative between interior and exterior transitions by juxtaposing density with opacity, lightness with heft, all by utilizing the timeless nature of historic architectural elements.
Circulation from the upper volume steps down to the living room area that connects to the exterior deck and pool. A peripheral louver inspired by the Islamic veil provides privacy and protection from the harsh sun. A traditional windcatcher is used for passive ventilation. The veil adapts to the terrain and becomes part of the aesthetic.
